drilling a viz-a-ball

When drilling a viz-a-ball do you guys drill with or against the line that splits the ball apart.  Also do you drill on the line that splits the ball in half or on the logo?

why would you drill into the logo?? To me that is stupid, you're paying extra money because of the logo for a viz-a-ball

Remember it still has to be legal...cg in the center of the palm, drill parallel to the line that splits the ball.

It's not actually where the ball split in half. Brunswick places the picture on an all white ball and that's just the two halves of the picture. Remember when you bevel the holes to be careful, because the picture if too much friction is applied it wears off and you have a white spot. The flame ball is really cool to layout if you drill it so the flames rotate around your pap! Remember when you layout the ball to weight it first before drilling any hole and you can ensure it's usbc legal without a weight hole. Just my $.02, Bruce

Use your balance to determine the true cg.  Locate this cg close enough to grip center (distance depends on the amount of top weight) to make it legal unless you want a balance hole.  Then orient the grip to make best use of the picture or pattern, make the customer happy.  The position of the line makes no difference.  --  JohnP
