Question regarding thoe who make their own slugs / molds
« on: March 16, 2012, 01:35:44 PM »
What are good release agents to use when using the ultimate thumb slug kit?  I see where they (Ultimate) suggest the use of a release agent, but don't seem to sell one.  I know that Pro-Edge sells a release agent, are their any others out there?  Are there any "home" products that will work as a release agent?

Thanks

I don't know of any home made release agents but you can check art supply places.  The spray on this page

should work.  You can get by without a release agent.  After hardening, give a few firm (or slightly harder) taps on all sides with a rubber malet. You should then be able to push the slug/mold out with a smaller slug or dowel or screw driver handle.

i don't use any release agent for the slug whether using wizard or other.  as far as the silicone for the mold, didn't use any either.
