Repost Alter Ego drilling inquiry
« on: April 06, 2005, 09:29:35 PM »
Picking up one of these beasts used and am looking for a drill recommendation. I was hoping that I could use this ball to chase the oil line through the night on our THS. 15.8 mL of oil buffed to 39'. Just as a comparison most PBA shots are in the 19-22 mL range. The oil is only applied to 28' and the rest is buffed out on our shot. Flat oil from 2 to 2 on the first 5' of the lane then it starts tapering from 9 to 9 after 5' to 14 to 14 out at 28'. Nice shot, not too easy, not too hard.

More about me though. Ball speed is 16-17 mph, PAP is 5.5" right and 1" up. Revs to match my speed. Axis tilt isn't nailed down tight, but it's from 10-13 degrees by my best estimate.

Also, as another option...

What would be a good layout for this ball on higher oil volume sport shots?

Please help! Thanks...

J_Mac -- How is it drilled now?  The least expensive way would be to slug either the thumb or fingers and redrill to your spans.  If you did so, how would the layout come out?  --  JohnP

some dink in a proshop decided they'd drill it label.  The MB is more than 9" from my PAP.  This is not what I want from this ball.

The layout you have on it now should be pretty good for sport shot conditions. The strong cover mixed with a strong pin placement/weak mb placement can work out nice to give you predictable roll on these shots.

I'm sorry, that's what I get for not paying attention when I reposted my question.  I shouldn't have abbreviated it.

Alter Ego it is...
