Rev Leverage
« on: August 04, 2004, 06:57:08 PM »
Just doing a little experimenting, and had someone mention Rev Leverage.
I'm looking at the diagram that is on the Bowl Rite site:

http://www.bowlritelanes.com/p_layouts1.htm

What type of reaction are you supposed to get with this leverage layout.

I have seen 1:30 Leverage (label), 12:00 (Stacked) and 10:30

What is Rev Leverage?

TIA

I have a Shock Trauma drilled rev leverage.  Ball revs up early and gives a strong continuous arc to the pocket.  The ball is about 1500 sheen, and I still can only use it on wetter conditions.

DO you know if it can be used on asymetrical cores?

I am thinking about trying it on a DC Tour
PRobably polish to 1000.

The Shock is assymetrical, I know I've seen it on other assymetrical cores.  So I don't see why you couldn't try it on your DC tour (not familiar with that ball though)

SO is your Pin and CG lined up as in the picture, or did you
line up your pin, and MB indicator?

CG was kicked out slightly from Pin.  Pin CG and MB all lined up perfect.  If the CG the center of a clock, the Pin is at 11 and the MB is a 5

I have a 15# Reaction Rip drilled Rev lev. And it is more in the layout that DanH78 describes. I love this ball, because it is extremely strong at the pindeck. Off hits and lite hits just obliterate the pins...regardless. Because the coverstock is a pearl, I have more flexibility with it. It starts up early in the midlane and then just keeeps coming. If the backs are too dry, I can come up the back of the ball and still carry with power. I have a Red Alert drilled similarly, but because of the Pk18 cover, I can only use it on the wet stuff. Great drilling.

I think you need to be careful of the ball flaring over your finger holes if you have a higher track. Might want to run that past your driller.

I have my Anomaly drilled like this and this ball flat hook can hook.  They are right gives a good midlane revving and then smooth big arc on the back.

I once had a Pantera drilled Revs Lev,
..... If hooked like a girl, it had quite a curl
And when it hit it was a motherf......er.

On a more serious note this drilling in te calssic sense.

Both pin and cg down and an equal distance from the grip midlane is a hell of a drilling.  Picture a leverage drill that just makes it's move earlier.

For other variations see my portion of the post in drilling titled "Is there one source to go for all the ..........".

A great variation for a lefty is a Particle drilled cg down but pin also up to get an early start and a strong backend.

It must have been past your bedtime there Lucky lol

Yeah, I'm looking to use it on tournament shots, so midlane would be nice.

Live,

Just note there are many variations on this drill.

I'm very fond of cg down and pin up on a pin out ball.

Both early read and Big backend, for heavy oil and carrydown.

See "is there one source!"
