ball tilt and finger span question?
« on: November 14, 2008, 04:41:03 AM »
I have very little ball tilt and my ball track will clip the thumb at times. How can I increase my ball tilt a small amount with changing my release all that much?

I currently use the same length span for both my fingers.  If I were to shorten the ring finger span by 1/16, would that change my ball tilt a little bit?

Some people say changing finger pitches can affect tilt, others say no.  I really don't know.  Try bending your wrist toward your pinkie finger some, that might help.  --  JohnP

Clipping the thumb usually = stop prematurely turning the hand.

As the loudmouth on Sundays puts it..."work the inside of the ball".

A helpful grip adjustment, from a properly fit grip, would be to shorten the MF 1/16 and add 3/8 forward pitch.  Next step would be to lengthen the RF 1/16 and add 3/8 reverse pitch. Yes, this is the "Mo/Del claw" adjustment.

If you can get away with it, using lateral left rather than right on the ring finger also helps me tilt the ball. The issue there is whether your finger holes are going to hit inside the ball.
