Rico Layout - Have you tried it?
« on: December 14, 2005, 08:55:09 AM »
Hi everyone. I am very intrigued by this layout. I have been hearing about this layout for the past couple of years now. From the Ballreviews Forum's, websight articles and Rick Benoit's report on Brunswickinsiders.com

Now I ask all of you if you have punched any of your equipment with the "Rico" layout on it.

Questions for you:
- If you have used the "Rico Layout," what type of ball did you use it on (i.e. weak or strong).
- Was it a Resin Ball or Particle
- Did you find it helpful to combat a Wet/Dry pattern?
-Which oil patterns did it work best on?
-Feel free to add insight on the layout and your experiences.

Did you experience the "Smoothness and Retention of hitting power," that most report experiencing? A few of my friends here on the boards seem to like it a bunch and gives them a different look on the lanes (smoothwise).

Thanks for your input!

Does the pin going in the center of you grip or 5 in from your pap.  I'm a little confused.

You guys are awesome, thanks for the advice.
Nick, I remember that video, thanks for the memories!
I noticed that the reaction on each ball had a sily smooth backend reaction that still retained power for the pins...hmmm...contemplating Rico...

Fluffer, thanks for the info. Blending out the Wet/Dry is exactly one of the battles I want to conquer. Maybe with a Rico drill someday...

Thanks y'all,

Questions for you:
- If you have used the "Rico Layout," what type of ball did you use it on (i.e. weak or strong).

---> Strike Zone

- Was it a Resin Ball or Particle

---> Resin

-- Did you find it helpful to combat a Wet/Dry pattern?

---> No, mine hooked at the arrows, polished it was over/under

-Which oil patterns did it work best on?

---> Broken down heavy oil patterns

-Feel free to add insight on the layout and your experiences.

--->  Not my favorite layout.. prefered the "girard" layout

Did you experience the "Smoothness and Retention of hitting power," that most report experiencing?

--->  I didn't really care for the layout.. probably because it was on the SZ...  A couple bowling friends have it on absolute infernos and love it...
