Denny Torgerson's The Degree System book
« on: February 19, 2007, 02:45:18 AM »
As my quest to understand layouts is a neverending battle of learning, I've run into Denny's book, The Degree System (which I actually forgot existed). Does anyone have any experience with this book, good or bad? I'm considering the purchase of it as seminars are tough to find, and even tougher to get too. Any opinion welcome.

He had a very nice article in Aug 06 BTM on this subject, very good reading. If you can't get the issue then the book would be a good investment.

That explains why Denny laughed when I tried to explain how I wanted my Total NV layed out.  LOL!

I said "can you do it?"  He said, "I taught the class on how to do it!"

I'll have to give him a hard time at league this Wednesday.

Can you say impulse purchase. I ordered it today. I'll give a review once I receive it (and give it a once or thrice over).

I use his degree system for laying out all my stuff. Very easy to understand. I layout my new balls and then my pro shop drills them.

For the record, I think Denny's article in August 2006 BTM is as good (perhaps better written) as his book itself. Certainly anything not covered in the article can be gleaned from the RollRite website at http://www.rollrite.co.uk/secrets.php.

The book also has blurbs on pin position, weight holes, and how to use the degree system in balls like the Matrix which are MB-Pin-CG (you measure in the opposite direction).
