Axis Coordinates - PAP Question
« on: April 06, 2007, 04:23:02 AM »
My PAP Coordinates are 5 5/8" x 1/4" up.
Does this measurement in and of itself tell you anything about my ball roll, style, track, etc...???

I don't consider myself a "high-tracker" or a "low-tracker".  I am fairly verstaile in my speed, revs, and release, but for the most part, would put myself in that Tweener/Power Stroker/Medium Speed/Medium to above average revs category.

I don't see a lot of Axis coordinates like mine...so I wonder if that says anything about my style or release etc...?

Actually, I wouldn't consider yours unusual at all.  PAP can't really tell us anything about your game, as there are always exceptions such as Fagan and his spinner-like axis even though he throws a "normal" ball.  We'd need to know track size to determine tilt or anything like that.  But yours isn't that strange.  Many people have PAPs around 5" over and 1/2" up and variations thereof.  Somewhat unusual would be if you're like me, and it is 3/4" down (inverted).

Your PAP is in the general range, nothing uncommon.  PAP can only show your initial track, can't tell anything much about your style.

You track closer to your thumb than fingers, if you placed any pins below your fingers you will likely clip your thumb.

If you track closer to your fingers than the thumb, then the down measurement is correct.  However, if your track is like most bowlers in that it's closer to the thumb than fingers, then I'm not really sure how it'd be a down measurement.  FYI my PAP is 3/4" down, so it's not like it's impossible to be down 1/2.
