Title: Ring finger pitch on Sarge Easter
Post by: Moon57 on October 30, 2008, 09:46:16 PM
For anybody who has drilled a Sarge Easter, what, if any, pitch did you use on the ring finger? Also, how close to the grip vertical center line did you drill the hole? Thanks.

Thanks John. I don't know why I didn't check there first.

I played with Sarge for a little bit, just to check it out.  I used about 1/2 reverse on the ring finger,  felt okay.  Loaned the ball to a friend, he shot 300 with it first night out, I never saw that ball again!

That's a good story Mike. I wouldn't have given the ball back either. I drilled up a 15lb ZR40 I used to use just to try it out. drilled the ring at 0 pitch. It seemed pretty comfortable to throw. I use 14lb in my fingertip stuff but the 15lb using the sarge grip didn't seem any harder to throw and still had decent turn on it. Got some more 15's that I'm going to drill up and make myself a 4 ball 15lb sarge arsenal.

Murf - If I go by the chart on BrunsNick's site I should only have about 1/8 reverse. The next one I drill will have 1/8 reverse and I'll see how that feels. Maybe I'll just keep going reverse in 1/8 increments until I hit the sweet spot. The ball seemed very stable on my hand for the 3 games I bowled with it. I didn't score well with it because of the conditions. The Zr40 and oil don't get along too well and I left alot of splits. The other 3 balls I'm drilling up are an EPX for heavy, Saturn for med, Apogee for med, and the Zr40 is for light. Really, I was just looking for an excuse to plug and drill some more balls.
