rolling over thumb
« on: November 16, 2009, 06:07:29 PM »
i have been bowling for 17 years and the last year and a half i have had back and knee problems but still bowled. but now i am healthy again and tracking way to high. i'm a 230 league bowler and bowl all pba regionals in my region and have bowled well the last few tourneys as well. but suddenly since i got healthy my pap has moved to 5 in right and 2 in up. i can drill symetrical balls 5x3 and 5x4 but i just drilled a virtual energy 5x5 and it slighty rolls over the thumb and my mutant cell pin up 5x5 and it's almost on the other side of the thumb. is it release or is it the 1/4 reverse i have in the thumb and i use thumb molds. all suggestions will help please.

it is definately a relaese problem.. when practicing remember to be gentle at the bottom and not grab it so hard or try not to turn it with your wrist/hand so much.. without seeing a video I would say you are to early with your wrist/hand movement and not staying behind it long enough.. have you ever heard of the "pro zone" when it comes to your timing when turning the ball.. it is at the bottom of the swing next to your ankle.. you want your hand flat or almost alittle open before coming through with your shot, but still finishing like your shaking someones hand.. try and gently guide your swing trying to point your ring finger at your target and go through the shoot.. try and stay loose when doing this, it will take some practice.. hope this helps.. slashrr69
