what do you call stacked leverage?? is this the strongest drilling?? what about the 12:00 leverage of drilling?? also, whats the difference between a pin in and a pin out?? pin up or pin down in a layout??

Stacked leverage puts both the pin and the cg or mb 3 3/8" from the PAP.  This maximizes the flare, whether it's the strongest layout or not depends on the bowler, condition, etc.

Pin in and pin out refers to the distance between the pin and the cg on an undrilled ball.  Less than 1" is pin in, over 1" is pin out.

Pin up and pin down refers to the height of the pin above the midline of the layout.  In general if this height puts the pin below the finger holes, it's pin down.  Above the finger holes is pin up.

Pin in and pin out is primarily important when selecting a ball for a particular layout.  If you want the pin under the fingers, a pin in ball is more appropriate.  For over the fingers, pin out is better.  Pin above the fingers causes later break, below the fingers, earlier break.  If you can keep the static weights legal without a balance hole, there is very little difference between a pin in and pin out ball for the same pin location.  --  JohnP
