A few questons (PAP 'n' balance hole)
« on: November 29, 2011, 08:35:25 AM »
Hi all.

I have a question about PAP for bowlers with inconsistent release (such as me), not able to repeat shots very well. As I stated in my other thread, I'm investing in entry level reactive bowling ball. Should I use those "magic" 5" over, 1/2" up numbers?

Another question I want to ask is how to determine position of balance hole? And how to determine if balance hole is needed?

Again, our only Pro Shop in country is not operating, so no information there, we have to do it all by ourselves. :(  I won't actually drill my ball, but I would like to know as much as I can about every step in drilling so I can be assured that nothing will be drilled wrong.

cheers

You should definitely go off your PAP when laying the ball out. As far as balance holes go there are too many factors to really describe to know if you will need one or where it may be placed.

Lots of info here. Click back to the main page for other bowling related stuff. Probably the best bowling resource available.

If you have a ball currently drilled for you I would have your pro shop operator take the coordinates off your current ball. You may think your release is inconsistent but when gauging a PAP a lot of times there is not that much deviation.

Thanks for the answers.

At wiki I found tons of great information. Thanks to all who contributed.

As I said, our ProShop is out of business, so there is no one who could provide me with this kind of information.
