I am currently using the Sarge Easter and am pleased with the results.  I have a very high rev-rate and speed and was having trouble with strong backends.  My rev rate has not decreased overall and I am able to stay behind the ball much better.  

I had to try a few different spans on the ring finger before I got it right, but the first span was a little short and I had a pain on the backside of my ring finger after bowling.  This was due to the back of the finger hitting the back of the hole on exit.  So, done give up on it if it doesn't feel right at first, give it a few sessions and don't be afraid to make tweaks to the pitches and spans.

I have been thinking of using this grip. What I might do is buy a not too expensive ball or take one of my current balls and have it redrilled. See if i like the fit and get use to it.

If you use one of your current balls, all you have to do is have the ring finger plugged and redrilled.  --  JohnP

Not necessarily.  I found that I needed more reverse in the middle finger and more forward in the thumb to be comfortable and effective when I switched to sarge easter.  

Also, like the previous poster said, while my overall revs stayed the same after I grew accustomed to it, for the first 2 weeks my revs did go down.
