Bowler complains that his vivid doesn't work, just goes straight no hook.
PAP is unknown, ball is #14 his normal ball weight used is #15, ball speed unknown, used on THS, surfaces tried are from OOB up to 4000 (though ball looks very shiny for 4000), no x-hole. Could only make it work a little standing right playing basically down and in.
Has a Undefeated that hooks more.
Original thought was ball was burning up, but surface changes didn't help.
Could this be a problem with the layout, my thought is the ball is just too light and he's over throwing it. With the layout too weak to over come it.

I've seen people throw the Vivid and it hooks a ton on the heavier oil houses we have around here. This ball does look a little shiny for 4000. It makes me wonder if polish or something was added by the bowler and then claims it wont hook.
This also makes me wonder if it is the bowler himself with wrist position. If the bowler is breaking his wrist back in the swing, then of course he would be killing off the revs and the ball has no choice other than going straight.
Best advice would be to see how he is throwing the ball and then make a decision from there. I would also look at bringing the ball back to OOB. PAP should also be measured because that can and does influence layouts. It sounds like operator error in the sense that the bowler probably isn't using the Vivid on the right conditions. However, it also sounds like driller error for not measuring PAP or knowing the speed/rev rate that the bowler uses.

Thanks for the reply. I think the point is moot now. He's going to get it redrilled, by the pro shop guy who said "He was puzzled as to why the ball did not react into the pocket."
I told him to make sure and have him find his pap first, we'll see if he does.

Yeah w/o knowing the PAP it's almost impossible to speculate. If he has a very high track that could be a 6+ pin to PAP.
