Title: Semi-finger tip and no grips drillings
Post by: titletowncards on May 10, 2008, 09:43:02 AM
Hi, I just bowled a Pro-am with Parker Bohn III and Norm Duke. Both were a lot of fun and we had a great time.
I noticed that Parker uses a semi-finger tip and Norm doesn't use grips in the fingers. Not sure on the spans.

Is this common among PBA's and what are the advantages?

I didn't get a chance to ask either one, maybe someone has some perspective on these drillings. I'd like to try the Semi-finger grip drilling for fun.

Thanks!

They are both for comfort. Some people just prefer the feeling of those drillings. The semi fingertip drilling is often said to help control your revs. I know my pro used to drill his fingers and not even bevel the edges. He liked the feeling of the sharp edge.
