Have a friend at our local center...nice kid.
He first had a ball drilled by one of our old timers....too long he said...hand felt stretched.
Went to another driller...had span shortened lets say over 1/2 of an inch...say 5/8!
Now last joint is 1/8 of an inch past back side of finger hole AND the middle split of last and second joint(usually where the end front lip of finger hole is placed for a RELAXED span) is say 3/16 past front edge of hole.
My guess is a standard relaxed span would be 3/16 longer!
He cups wrist tremendously...struggles to get ball level and sort of throws into lane with a downward motion...lots of revs and I think tilt!
Only a 12 pound ball and the kid carries the world! (With a proper span this very skinny kid would probably use a 14!).
I'm dying to give him a proper span and see how much better he throws but afraid to screw up his current scoring pace! Quite good actually though it looks like hell slamming down into the lane!
