Title: short pin to pap distances

Just making sure I am clear on this...
Take a given layout... 75 X x.x X 50 on a ball. For a symmetric core, a shorter pin to pap.. say 2.5" has less flare and tends to roll earlier than something with a 5" pin.
Where I have not played around with it much (and reading some layout instructions and articles), this is not true for strong assymetrical core? How would reaction change (in general) between the 2.5" pin vs the 5" pin?

Thanks. Reading through the pdf prompted the question. I assume its the influence of the assymetry in the core, but I guess I'm trying to make sense of "late revs" for a short pin to pap distance, when the same layout on a symmetric gives early roll.
