Switch Grip Installation
« on: May 04, 2013, 07:59:29 PM »
A question for all of the guys that install switch grips. Is the depth stopper on the 1.5" drill bit from Turbo pre-set? If not, what is the best method for setting this and what is the depth? Thanks for your help.

They do come pre-set from Turbo however I moved mine to a deeper setting when the first 2 customers I did switch grips for complained of hitting the bottom of the slug with the tip of their thumb.

If you do change your depth stop make sure you inform the customers of that so, if they have had SG's done by other shops, they know your's will be different.

Just got a text from a friend who is a turbo rep and he told me that if the bit is silver (old version) then the stopper needs to be adjusted, but the new version bits are black and the stopper is pre-set from turbo. Checked mine out and it is a black bit. Guess I will need to get an inch and a half bit and go a touch deeper with it. Thanks for your help.
