Side weight
« on: December 09, 2011, 08:32:15 AM »
After drilling my ball had 1 3/4oz side weight so put hole on PAP taking down to 3/4oz. My question is how much would the ball change if I take it down to 1/2oz.

It has become the general consensus that holes on your pap have a very minimal effect on the balls reaction, so it would be my guess that since the hole is on your axis point, taking another 1/4oz of weight from that location would have little, or no, effect.

Originally that was considered a P1 weight hole location and was suppose to have no positive increase on the bowling balls potential. I did not understand that completely because of a great vid by Brunsnick titled "more x-hole fun" which I recommend watching as he shows the effects of a weight hole on his pap. The depth of the hole is more important then the diameter when having an effect on the cores dynamics.

…… you can't  add a physics term to a bowling term and expect it to mean something.
