Can someone provide a visual of this layout?
« on: April 07, 2004, 07:33:57 AM »
Need some help please.

My PAP is 5 7/8 over -- 1 3/4 up -- span 4 1/16

Need a visual of a 5 1/2 X 5 1/2 drilling layout.

Also, what reaction can I expect from this on a Blade Solid?

Any help would be appreciated.

I have no idea.  One of the technical people from Hammer suggested this layout.  I wasn't given any other details.  He asked for my PAP before suggesting the 5 1/2 x 5 1/2.

Bob7 -

Thanks for your reply but now I'm totally confused.

I checked  my email on this subject and this is what it said.

quote:
I would recommend a layout with the pin and CG at 5 1/2" from your axis point.  This layout would place the pin above or below the ring finger depending on the pin out and should not require a weight hole.  Pins placed above the fingers tend to produce a stronger breakpoint and pins below tend to be smoother and more controllable.

I believe my ball is 2.5 pin out.

Now I am even more confused.  I obviously cannot call and ask questions about something I don't understand.

Thanks for trying to help.

Thanks Bob.  I was trying to compare this layout to the one you suggested which was pin 1" above middle finger and cg under the ring finger above the midline (this is approximate, I would have to search back for exact post).

How would they differ?

I bowl on synthetic medium to medium/heavy conditions.  Fresh oil shot and second shift with carrydown.  Even our fresh shot doesn't have big backends.

Which one do you think would be a better all around layout for these conditions?

Thanks for your input.

I'm going to use the ball the way it is until the end of the season.  I'm doing okay with it, a few 200's and quite a few 180-190's.  I feel if I could increase it's hitting power I could do quite well with it.  I don't want to screw around with my game right now so I'm going to redrill it after the season ends.

I appreciate your help.
