hook...stop...then hook again

BALL - original hammer black widow.
The drilling is around 4.5" x 45*, pin down.  This has been one of my fav layouts recently.  The ball had low top weight so no x-hole was necessary.  The problem I am experiencing is exactly the topic.  THE BALL FREAKIN' HOOKS 2 TIMES.  It still hits like crazy, but I just can't take seeing this rxn, and I wanted a smoother layout, hence the pin down.  SOOO to all you gurus, where should i place the x-hole?
- on pap?
- use mo's gradient hole method, decrease the RG & possibly smooth it out?
- large or small?  deep or shallow? (in relation to weight holes, c'mon guys minds out of the gutter)

Its more likey the lane condition and surface of the ball than the layout. An X hole will not change the reaction your getting in this case.

When the ball hooks twice, it's definitely the lane condition. Early hook, then a ton of oil, then dry backends. Shining up the surface might get you by the early hook.

But if you want to control the backend more, place a hole on your axis and take all the side weight out. You can take more out, going to 3/4 neg.s side if the ball still hooks too much on the backend.

That's the best you'll be able to do with a weight hole. If that doesn't work, you may need a different layout, or worse yet, a different ball. Good luck. =:^D

Ditto probably lane condition, also note that your BW is at 500 grit, take it up to 1500 or 2000 to help it get throuigh the front cleaner.
