Skid/flip question?
« on: January 25, 2007, 03:02:47 AM »
I have high revs (350-400rpm) and high speed (20mph). I want to drill a ball for good length and a sharp backend reaction. I am going to use an assymetrical ball, Domination or Saga, and was curious what drilling to put on it.

I heard 5x4 was good for symmetrical cores, but would like to know what's best for assymeetrical...thanks!

Both of those balls should be pretty flippy to start with.  Asyms tend to be more angular than symmetrics given otherwise-similar numbers (look at the Infernos compared to the Zones).  I'd go with a 5" pin-to-PAP, above the fingerline.  MB either next to the thumb or a little further towards the VAL.

Or you could try the Asymmetric Flip drill, I hear that's pretty angular.  You'd have to contact one of the Morich guys to find out the details, clint, Nod, KOTM should know more.  It's like a 4" pin-to-PAP with the pin about 2" from the VAL and the MB strong, I believe.

ok, sounds good...but about the MB, should i drill that relative to the thumb or relative to my PAP? if so, how far away from the PAP?

4 1/4 inches.  Put the pin 4" above your midline at 4 1/2" from your PAP.  If it needs a hole, go 3 inches from the center of your palm over and 2" up.
