I'm going up sometime tonight to drill these two.

I had planned on using these for mainly only PBA exp leagues and the occasional local Regional.

Just wondering what types of layouts (PAP Distances please) you guys recommend for a ball with the intention of using it on sport shots

BTW, I am left handed, between 300-350 RPM, 16-17 MPH (qubica)

I got the ultra zone for 96.99 and the blast zone for free. Ultra zone from bowlingball.com when it was on sale, and the blast zone from a friend w/ connections.

Anyway, as I said earlier, these will be for PBA patterns, and I was wondering what anybody had success with as far as layouts for non THS on these balls

The best advice I could give is to put YOUR best "strong layout" on both of them. The Blast is earlier, and if left pretty dull, can handle more oil than the Ultra. VERY SMOOTH REACTION.
The Ultra is much cleaner through the heads and once it finds friction will make a more angular move. I drilled mine strong and have not regretted it for a second.

I drilled the Ultra with 5" pin to PAP, pin up, and the MB just left of the thumb (remember, i'm a lefty) and with the Blast I went with 5", pin down, mb a little bit farther out from the thumb... didn't measure exactly degrees, but oh well.

The Ultra zone rolled fantastic, first brunswick ball i've ever thrown that made it down the lane AND still recovered.

I haven't thrown the blast zone yet, seeing as how we ran out of slug material for making an exaticated slug after the first one..
