Title: solutions to grip problems....
Post by: spartanplayaAA on April 24, 2008, 06:31:30 AM
I have been using a thumb slug and 1/8'' reverse by 0'' lateral pitch in my thumb for several years now, and my game has changed quite a bit over that time.  Over this time, I have loosened my grip pressure and have a softer hand at the bottom of the swing.  It has even happened that my ball has completely fell off my hand at the bottom of the swing (resulting in a gutter).  Even after putting white tape in both the front and back of the thumbhole, I can never seem to get the "snug" feel I want.  Since I will probably be retooling the arsenal in a couple months, I have been thinking that this would be a good time to experiment with thumb pitches/grip.  I have also contemplated to going to no thumb slug, as I am curious to what kind of feel that would bring.  So my question is, do you think a change to more forward pitch in the thumb would solve this.  Also, in comparison, what is the difference between the feel of a thumb slug and no thumb slug.  Thanks for any imput....

try using foward pitch it'll make you hold on the ball longer, but only go a little amount at a time until you feel comfortable
