Hello! I got a Track Phenom Unleashed for Christmas from my wife. She knew I wanted the ball and ordered it from a local pro shop. Well, I think they gave her a lemon. Here's what I need help with. I've always been under the assumption that you want any ball you buy to have at least 3 ounces of top weight and to have the pin at least 3 inches out. The ball she got at the pro shop has 2.75 ounces of top weight and the pin is 2 inches out. Should I take the ball back and get different specifications or leave it as is? I'm a high speed and higher rev player. Also, if I decide to drill this ball for heavier oil patterns, what can I expect? PLEASE HELP!!!

2.75 oz of TOP WEIGHT is fine. That ball is by no means a BLEM or a "lemon". The 2 inch pin is fine as well. Most any driller should be able to give you the desired reaction you want with that ball.
The Phenom Unleashed is a strong ball, but for me, it is just a step down from an oil ball. It wants to get a little TOO long before it tries to turn the corner in oil. For oil, the Phenom would have been the much better choice.
With that being said, I have alot of ball speed (on the KATS, I was 22mph, which on house computers usually would register around 25-26mph). So for someone with less speed this ball could be an oiler.
Goodluck
