I picked up a Raging Red Fuze (From hotwire13 BTW, great transaction).  Just for fun and because I value the advice I get from BR, I would like to know if anyone has any layout suggestions for me. It's in good shape, first drill, and I'm going to clean it/soak it and resurface to box when I have it drilled.
I am a high tracker, PAP and current equipment is in my profile.  My house is synthetic lanes with medium oil, 38ft christmas tree pattern that carries down very fast. My revs are about average and speed is 15-17mph.
My normal shot is from board 25 to 14 swinging to 8 or 9 with my Wicked, with the Virus I shoot more inside 20 to 15 or 16 swinging to about 11 or 12. Obviously I'm forced to adjust a lot (2nd shift league), and I'm no stranger to taking it way out. Just wanted to give you an idea of the boards I cross.

If there is enough info here and in my profile, I would appreciate suggestions for what might work well for me with this ball.  THANKS!!

If the pin is in the safe zone it's fine.

Safe zone is above the line from your PAP to fingers if i remember correctly.

The ball isn't going to be "bad" or anything BK, it's just to prevent the track from clipping the holes.

I'm not sure if you're a "true" high tracker though....I'll have to look at your stuff on saturday.

Yes, the pin above the 'imaginary line' from middle finger to PAP is the 'safe zone'.  Learned that the hard way... so I am planning on putting the pin above that line - but don't know what type of drilling would be good for my stats/lane/ball combination... 2x2, 4½x4½... was thinking about 5x4, but not sure.

That I did not... I knew I was forgetting something!
I definitely want to get some length out of the ball. From what I've told, this ball can be pretty aggressive - and I would like to see a pretty pronounced move at the breakpoint... skid/flip type would best describe what I'm looking for - my Virus has a solid arcing roll and I'd like something with more length and pop.

kingswingin -- Without knowing the pin to cg distance or top weight, a 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 with the pin over the fingers should get the reaction you're looking for, probably without requiring a balance hole unless the ball is high top weight.  It will have enough positive side weight to allow use of a balance hole to fine tune the reaction, if needed.  If it's a short pin ball, you will have to drill the finger holes extra deep.  Let us know how you drill it and if you get the reaction you're looking for.  --  JohnP

kingswingin -- With a 3 1/2 inch pin you should be able to get by without a balance hole unless you decide you want one to tune the reaction.  --  JohnP
