Mo's Dual Angle Layout Question
« on: September 05, 2008, 12:41:40 PM »
According to how in interrupt Mo's instructions:

For symetrical layouts... longer pin to pap lengths produce less flare but the opposite it true for asymetrical where shorter pin to pap produce less flare.

Is this true? Or am I misunderstanding this? I thought longer pin to pap lengths produced less flare for both symetrical and asymetrical balls.

Thanks

It's true...

Pins closer to 6 1/4" on asymmetric equipment produces more forward roll while pins closer to 2 3/4" produce more side roll.

Asymmetric balls are definitely a horse of a different color in this sense.  MB to PAP distances are important since that is what controls when the ball revs up and when it will start to lose axis rotation and tilt.

Maybe someone can explain it better than me...

According to the dual angle write up on the MoRich website. On a symmetric cored ball the flare potential will start to decrease past 4" That does not occur on an asymmetric ball.

On symmetric balls, for PtoP ranges under 2" it's considered low flare. For PtoP ranges past 5" is also considered low flare
