I'm not sure what layout you're talking about.  Can you give us more information or a drawing?  --  JohnP

All the spinners I have drilled for or worked with, I have used the 'pin in the palm' or Rico layout with pretty good success. This will give them an early enough reaction and strong movement on the back end. I am not sure a spinner would need the ball to glide through the fronts...

I had a TPC Shooter with such alayout a couple of years ago - got it used, but i am a high tracker, so I got a rather tame reaction out of it. But I have seen this layout on two low track/spinner style players who had it drilled on strong equipment (TS&A and a BW), and it worked well for them. Length is hardly a problem with a low track release, but you need some major impact to make the ball finish and actually roll into the pins. On strong MB balls, this seems to work well - and the TS&A at OOB looked pretty impressive on fresh lanes. We talked about the ball (at that time MoRich was rather rare to see on German lanes), and the player was pretty proud of the combo. He told me that it was actually the first ball that would move for him on oilier shots.

Both balls went pretty straight and started a curving, sharp hook, once they hit the dry - but both times with matte balls. I guess with  Cell Pearl, you will get a ball with a very sharp backend that will need some dry/clean boards, and for medium conditions and less.
