Is it better to have a stretched or short span Thanks

I think this tends to be personal preference... I know a few tour guys like shorter spans because it helps them get through the 40+ games in a week with minimal wear and tear on their hands... I personally feel a longer span helps me relax my hand more... so I tend to prefer that, but going back the other way again a friend of mine hates longer spans as it causes him to pull on the ball.

I say personal preference

For as long as i have been bowling i always hold on to the ball at the end with my thumb, would a longer span help me not do that as much? because right now i have a smaller span

I don't want my span/grip stretched. I don't want it short.

I want my ball to fit my hand. That's why I pay a professional to drill my ball.
