I need some help
« on: January 04, 2007, 07:25:06 AM »
I just ordered a domination, I was looking at the layouts and thought the 5x3 layout with the pin drilled under fingers. The problem is the ball looks like this

     ----- p

     ----- X

    ---MB

Can I get a 5x3 layout with a ball like this, or should I consider another drilling, and if so what drilling? Thanks in ADvance

Sean

btw-the pin is 3-3.5" with about 3.5 oz of top weight

In your picture, the pin, CG, and MB all seem lined up.  You shouldn't have too much trouble swinging the MB out like you want as far as statics are concerned.  You'll probably need a weight hole, as the CG will (depending on your PAP) be outside the grip).  Unless the top weight is really high, you won't have any trouble getting your side weight legal.

alright thanks, i saw the drilling sheet and it had the pin and CG stacked, but now that I know the CG is pretty much obsolete, I will go ahead and try that, thanks

While it may not play a significant role in ball reaction, it can't be ignored.  Static weights still have to be legal, and if it were offset from the pin-MB line, that could limit your options.  Put it to the right of that line by more than an inch or so (for a righty), and you won't be able to swing the MB out far before statics become a problem.
