Title: Switch-Grips

I am interesting into converting my thumbs inserts to Switch grips.. I keep on getting ball and having the thumbs not feeling the same.. So, should I just bite the wallet and convert my main 5 balls to switch grips,, or should i just do this going forward with my next ball?

Love my switch grips.  Do yourself a favor get all your equipment done.

Just adding my $.02...

I LOVE Switch Grips, but after using them since the beginning, I tried the IT and have never looked back. As good as Switch Grips are, the IT is a better product. Either is better than nothing at all, and the other thumb slugs I've tried them all), are just an embarrassment next to Switch Grips and IT.

How does Griploc compare to IT and Switch Grips?

I think all 3 are good.  I too had Switch grip and changed to IT and IT is great.  

If you have a multi-ball arsenal, any of the systems are better than none.  Another option is the molded thumb, but I have no experience with that.

I have used both Turbo SwitchGrip and Vise IT.  IMO, Vise IT is way superior to Turbo SG.  My driller who was a Turbo SG guy since they came out first now steers all his customers to IT if they want an interchangeable thumb system.

Just a word of advise, If you decide to go with the IT system.....getting all your gear done at the same time will save you time. You will also be wise to get an extra thumb slug, I have one just a little bit larger for swelling  (I actually put tape in it and use it in my spare ball)

def. the IT over switch a grip. and fyi the grip lock is horrible. but ask your pro shop guy i sell the IT almost $15 cheaper than the switch a grip. now this is for both pieces the bottom and slug. plus with the IT you dont have to deal with that nasty 1 1/2 hole you can stick to your normal 1 1/4 slug.

wow..Can I ask why you sell them so much cheaper?  The cost of the parts isn't a $15 difference.  Just curious

When you say the thumbs dont feel the same, do you mean the pitches or the bevel? If your pitches are all the same and it is just getting the correct bevel on the thumb, then i think a changeable thumb is definitely a good option.

I have been installing Griplocs for the past 5 years and have had absolutely no problems and even some of the early, older style ones I installed have worked fine.  Most have installed well over 200 by now and never had one break.  The point where the sleeve and the insert lock will wear out overtime, but not for a long time.  And besides, if you can install a 1 3/8" slug, you can install a Griploc and FYI, Turbo and Vise don't have predrilled ones yet, where Griploc started out that way...plus you can get solid slugs too.  My shop installs a Starter set, Outer sleeve and Insert for $20..then everything after that is $10 each.

The only benefit Turbo has is that if you use 1 1/4" thumb molds, you can get a Switch Grip inner sleeve with no slug installed so you can glue your thumb mold into the switch grip and have your favorite thumb mold interchangable as well.  I will be trying this after I get back from Nationals because even though I have a thumb mold, sometimes I get differences from slug to slug.  I know I'm going to get flack for that statement...but oh well..I'm a perfectionist.
