For me and my style I've noticed that often balls that are fairly pin in and the pin either on or below the pap to ring finger line have worked great for me!

Whether the ball is Heavy particle, Solid reactive, or high rg pearl.

I've had success with 2 inch pin out balls drilled near ring finger or closer to 3 3/8 pin to pap and also some rev leverage(pin down even more).

In general it has been rare that balls drilled with the pins way above my pap to ring finger line have worked well?

Others on this forum I've noted talking largely about ONLY getting balls to work if the pin is above or way above the ring finger to pap line??

Is it because I'm lefty and often I'm bowling on sort of 1st shift conditions where it seems the key is moving the balls break point a little closer to the foul line vs what I think are righties talking more about 2nd shift conditions for the pin way up.

It almost seems that for me a general rule for success is that if I can get a ball to rev up pretty hard and early on the condition I'm usually gonna have a pretty good night(provided there is still energy left on the back).

I have also in general not really loved super low rg balls(like the vortex II or red fuze because they sort of over rev for my softer speed).

A good example is the Reaction Rev. I had this ball drilled pin next to ring and cg down and out a little. Great. Bought the ball from a friend drilled stacked with the cg up and the pin up and out from the ring finger and I just couldn't get it revving quick enough to work the same as it's better drilled(for me) brother! Had to dull surface up to move the break point towards me and then it didn't seem to have same pop that its polished earlier revving brother!

I read your post with interest, because I am trying to understand which parameters to change when buying a new ball and which to keep the same.

My guess before reading your profile is that we had different styles. Then I read your profile and see that most of the variables are the same. The only thing you don't mention is your track, and this could have a big impact.

I have found balls with low RG's work well for me. Anything above 2.55 and I don't seem to get and midlane read - it becomes guess and check at the dry. Most of my balls are drilled with the Pin above the ring finger. I did have one in the same plane as my ring finger and it worked well. Maybe these two paratmeres are cancelling each other out (higher RG, lower Pin).

I do agree with your comment about getting the ball to rev up hard and early, this is important for me too.

I am curious what your arsenal is currently to see if we have any crossovers.

EZ Money Pin below ring
Riot Zone Pin below ring
Crimson Sledge Hammer pin below pap to ring line 3 3/8 X 1.
Blade Pearl Reactive pin touching top of ring
Storm HRG pin stronger but below pap to ring
Battle Zone Bullet pin below ring cg out.

Gurus,

Anythoughts on these wonderings.

Is it a left side right side difference?
Is it my style(relatively high tracker, 50 to 70 axis rotation, medium to higher revs with softer speed, slightly inverted track with not much axis tilt).

Any thoughts?
