Need a layout: 80* rotation, 10* tilt
« on: November 24, 2006, 12:38:10 AM »
Need some help with a layout (and maybe a ball too).  My tilt is less than 10* but my rotation is about 80*. I score great on fresh oil. The problem comes once the lanes blow up; if I move deep I hit weak, but with that 80* rotation everything hooks early.

In one leage I probably average over 230 in game 1, but under 190 for game 3. The transition is killing me.

I generally throw a 4x4 with no x-hole.  I've tried an asymetricial zone with the CG kicked right and there was no recovery or hit (skated thru the mids). I've tried pin over bridge and that layout just pukes for me. I've tried pearls (Smokin Inferno 4x4.5) and it wouldn't get thru the burn either.

The best "luck" I had was a bit last season... Big Bully spun to 4000g abralon in a 4x4 no x-hole layout (didn't seem to change directions and "jump" as much as a true pearl). I've been thinking of trying that layout again with another (less strong) solid... but I'm open ti suggestions!!

Remember that the cover has the most influence in ball reaction. So I would suggest a weaker ball with the same layout and hopefully you cann paly close to same area that you do in the first game. Where is your league. I bowl at Roosevelt Lanes in Allen Park.

thx for the help!  I'm at Plaza in Plymouth.
