Hello... I am an old school RH super senior bowler that started having callous
problem with my thumb. Corn/callous developed on the left side of the thumb(away from the palm)that I now must file the callous once a week or use corn/callous remover once a month. I have an oval thumb, no slug or insert with 1/4th reverse pitch and zero lateral pitch.
Question..If I ask the driller to put an 1/8th right lateral pitch on the thumb, would this lessen or alleviate the problem ? OR.. would it be an 1/8th left lateral. Recommendations solicited and appreciated.
Thank you.

No problem. I'm to old to remember everything, so when I find info others may need/use, I try to pass it along. Besides, I can't type as much info as these pages contain.
Use what you will, delete what you want, that's the way I see it. Hope that helped.

I was always told to adjust the pitch towards the direction of the burn (in this case, "away" from the palm or "left".

What he said. I have developed a blood clot underneath the left side of my thumb nail. I was told to go more "under palm" lateral. Going in this direction made me wonder, so my shop reslugged a ball and drilled it with 0 lateral so I could feel it for myself. I threw it twice and it hurt like mad. The problem is not quite fixed yet, but I have quite a bit of under in my thumb and it's almost a non-issue now.

Nova, I was always told the same thing, so that is what I have always done and it works for me.
