Arsenal drilling-check
« on: August 04, 2009, 10:04:05 PM »
Hey guys,

can some of you pls look trough this arsenal to see wheter it's good or I'm missing something...

I will be playing most of the time on a THS + sort of travel-league & some tournaments (but in general, the easier stuff).

my specs:

15-16 mph (can adjust if needed, have no problem with throwing it 17-18.5 mph when needed)
250-275 rpm
good axis rotation
PAP 4 1/4 " straight over

What I got:

(spare offcourse)
-Legends World Class Particle (it has about 1000+ games on it, drilled 2.5" pin to pap, x-hole on val, cg near thumb  => rolls ultra smooth, I use it on med. or light/med with carry-down)
- Hammer Emerald Vibe ( 4.5" pin to pap, under bridge, cq kicked out, flare increasing x-hole => it's about 4 boards stronger than the World Class, more skid/flip, can use it up to med)
- Storm Furious
- Storm Virtual Gravity

The last 2 balls aren't drilled yet, I plan on drilling the Furious Label Leverage & the Gravity with layout # 2 from the storm site (4" pin to pap, 2" pin buffer & pin up, key 4" to pap near thumb)

My only concern with this arsenal is that I don't really got something pin up, except for the gravity, is this needed? I'm also looking at a Roto-Grip Nomad that I might buy and give it a pin up drilling.

Any thoughts are welcome.

look like a pretty decent line up if i was gonna add something i would add a stronger pearl like a fast(stronger drilling) nomad pearl,2D,maybe a hyroad with a mild layout or look into the reign if your wanting to stay with storm/roto. if brand dont matter look into the burn, playmaker, and the 505c or try to get a tantru thats just my $.02 i would try to find something to fall between the furious and the vibe having thrown both there is a noticable difference

Brand doesn't really matter to me,
it's the first time I gonna throw Storm equipment now, in the past always used Lanemasters & Hammer.

Actually I've been looking to some strong pearls like the Legends Black Pearl & the Storm 2nd, the 900 global break point pearl also looks kick-ass, I wasn't too impressed with the Burn when I watched some vid's off it.

Tommorow I will have my Storm equipment, time to test it out wheter the gap between furious & vibe is gonna be to big (I expect so, but never know).

If I was gonna add a strong pearl like you said, it's suggested that I take a pin-up drilling to give me another look than my furious (since this is prolly gonna be my benchmark ball) right?

thnx for the advice.
