OK, I appreciate no one rushed to give me a halfhearted reply. I should have made it clear that I was not planning to drill a couple of new balls and go to a tournament, or throw them hard and hurt myself due to improper drilling/fitting. I just planed to plug up an old ball and try a few easy, just let it go kind of shots.
Like I mentioned, my main issue was during the downswing the weight of the ball would force my hand into a position so that the fingers were on the "side" of the ball. I could kind of straighten it at the top of the backswing but that created inconsistency.
Since I posted this I have tried a few things: (1) When putting the hand on the ball, tried to shift most of the weight to the pointer finger side. This was accomplished by a little thumb pitch to the left( away from palm or more like away from forearm); placed my pointer very close to the middle finger; and really spread out my pinky. (2) Adjusted the wrist support to minimize "cupping". (3) I used to have a very relaxed downswing and backswing but now I am putting some strength in my arm to make sure my hand is mostly behind the ball, which is much easier with the wrist support in a "straighter" position.
Can feel the weight of the ball on my fingers during release now. Ball reads the lane much better. Even picked up 2 mph ball speed without really trying.
Thanks everyone!
