Thumb slug substitute ?!
« on: August 16, 2004, 07:25:35 AM »
Two weeks ago drilled new ball. Driller change my span and pitches.
Thinking about redrill rest of my balls, cause every one is drilled differently.
Dont want to change balls - love my AttackMR & Spare.

Need to change span a little, but dont want to have ugly plugs on balls.
No problems with fingers - just plug & redrill.
But with thumb its not so easy.

And here is my question.

If I plug thumb & just drill new hole in it (will look like slug), feeling on release will be similar with urethane slug ???

No...a urethane slug will feel different from plug material.  Atleast it always has in my experience.

Agreed. Let me also add IMHO a plug is not ugly, it's a great way, the only way, to get a consistent feel between all balls. It's a wonderful quick change test method as well.....
Just my $.02....

Just a thought but would a 1 3/8" slug buy you enough room to make your span and pitch change to avoid plugging (or at least seeing the plug).

Lefty50 - You want to say "..slug is not ugly..".

Got nothing against slugs.
My AttackMR & Spare has slugs new Apex also, Colossus not.
First 3 - lots of game and nothing.
With Colossus few games and thumb has "marks" on side.
Other story they are drilled differently.

BTW - what means IMHO ??
