I bowl thumbless and do well on oily lanes and medium oiled lanes. I have trouble when the lanes are dry or have a good deal of backend. One of the problems I have is that I need to place the pin past the ring finger or the ball will roll over the middle finger hole. If the pin is too far left I might hit the thumb as well. I believe I could do quite well with plastic on dry lanes except that a plastic ball like a white dot doesn't flare and therefore hits the finger hole and maybe the thumb hole. I don't get a good reaction when the track hits the holes. It can hit the middle finger a little and I'm OK but if it hits the thumb, forget it.
My question is this:
Is there a way to layout a plastic ball so it won't hit the holes?
Or is there a urethane or reactive ball that will not over hook for me and can be laid out to not hit the holes?
For comparison I found an old black buzzsaw and resurfaced and polished it. I think it has a strong layout and it hooks a little too much for me on medium oil with strong backend.
Thanks for any input,
