Layout for a VG
« on: November 09, 2009, 01:44:28 AM »
I am getting a VG plugged and redrilled soon. Right now it has the pin right next to the ring finger and it basically goes straight. I have a faster ball speed than the previous owner and also more revs. I need a drilling that will let the ball get into a nice strong roll even though it is far down the lane. any suggestions?

Where's your PAP and how did the flares look on the ball?  Pin next to ring finger is usually around 3-3/8", so you aren't going to get any more flare by re-drilling.  If you get a chance, check the spacing between flares and general shape of the bowtie.  If the ball is drilled too strong and is over-flaring, this will simulate carrydown.  Given the limited amount of information the you provided, this is my guess as to why the ball goes straight.  You need to confirm this before any suggestions here will be useful.
