slide to the pocket

Has anyone witnessed a ball reaction that results in sort of a left slide to the pocket rather than an actual hook into the pocket. This ball is thrown down the ten board and just sort of slides sideways to pocket without any kind of overt hook or curve. If you've witnessed this ball reaction and know what type of drilling/weight dist. produces this reaction please respond.

I've seen this rather odd kind of hook, the only 2 guy's that I know that do this on a regular basis are older gentlemen in their late 50's early 60's. 1 guy has a Black Widow Pearl with an odd drilling, pin down by his thumb hole and the CG still in the palm area. I've heard this layout as a stroker layout??
These guy's have a weird kind of pin carry too, it either carries everything on decent pocket hit's or leaves nasty split's if your too high or too low in the pocket. Can be your best friend 1 night and your worst nightmare the next night.

That would be a full-roller layout...

Would you say it's something like
this
?
I get that type of reaction you get with a big flare, no backend layout. Like a 1:30, or label leverage .. revs the whole lane, no flip.
