I've been considering drilling a ball with a shorter pin-to-pap with the cg on my axis and was wondering, what would be the maximum topweight ball that I could start with and still be able to drill out enough weight with the x-hole to get it back to legal?
I would be putting the x-hole directly into the CG on my axis, and I would prefer to end up with between 0 and 1/2oz sideweight when I'm done.

Depending on the core design I would do my absolute best to get a starting top under 2.5. I have seen balls with higher top wts used for similar drillings but the holes required to get them back legal are nearly obscene.
