Turbo Ice Inserts
« on: April 17, 2005, 01:01:27 PM »
I don't do many inserts and have never used the Ice incerts. Of the shops that have used them a few questions...
Do they really blend (colorwise) with the ball ? Is there any great difference in the feel of them and say, the Power Ovals or any other insert ?. I have a lady with a ball that I can't really match well with the current colors and she wants it as close a I can get. I was wondering if the Ice's might be a good choice ?

when you have em in the LIGHT they are clear, when you put em in the ball they kinda take on the color of the ball and become a LITTLE dark IMO..

Local driller hates the changes Turbo has made to the material they now make their grips out of.  He also is very hesitant to use the clear grips because of gluing issues.  Supposedly you need to use a special glue for them compared to the grips with pigment in them, but I just use Crazy Glue without any problems.

They do blend in nicely with most any color.  I'm also thinking that they are slightly tackier than the standard Turbo grips.

The Turbo Ice inserts are a little bit different than the regular Turbo Quads.

The Ice inserts seem a bit softer and tackier.

As for teh gluing, I have not had any problems as long as I clean the outside of the insert and inside of the drilled hole with some acetone before gluing.

I use Loctite Super Gel and have not had a problem yet.
