five hole grip? anyone drill it or use it?
« on: May 03, 2010, 03:09:07 PM »
I am considering a five hole grip due to weak hands and weak wrist and some arthritis in fingers.  Already down to 14# from 16# for many years and 15# for many years.  14# hellps a lot.  But when bowl a lot of games or bowl long tournment or several days in a row, have trouble with wrist and fingers, weakness, stiffness.
I use a wrist device-mongoose.  I have tried pinky finger hole with mixed results.
Does anyone ever use a hole for all fingers and thumb?  any thoughts or experiences
Thanks for any replies.

I used it. It is really hard to duplicate the feel. The way I finally was able to do it was to rotate the ball for every finger( kind of like the new fad for the thumb)each finger had it's own centerline.every finger was conventional. Then as my hand healed I pulled my pinky out and went fingertip with my middle finger. looked like I was flipping the bird.I think be-fore I tried every finger in the ball,I would try the bird grip. I was able to compete with that grip. I also liked a sarge easter with my pointer finger drilled fingertip. You might have some success with an unorthodox grip.I didn't like the feel of my fingers spread apart. It was too easy to lift with one over the other (really inconsistent),but I was up the back. If you are an around the ball bowler those may not be for you.
