« on: February 27, 2009, 01:17:44 AM »
Learning form jayhawk's web that there may be a fit problem by checking my hand.

Which the callus located here.

I know it may be the result of early turn. But i would like to have the pitch changed to minimize the contact on that area.

My current fitting : Span 4 1/16 on both finger. thumb pitch , 1/2 forward , 1/4 right.

Should i try 0 laterial first ?

yeah try 0 left/right that should take pressure off that side of the thumb. Maybe try 1/8, 1/4 is a lot to change at a time

If your main concern is the callous on your thumb, the pitch lateral right will cause it for right handers. I went through thumb pitch changes recently and had zero and 3/8 right. I needed to change because I was spinning the ball too much with this set up and longer oil patterns was killing me. I tried zero and zero and this made my hand feel a bit cramped up in a way. I am at 3/16 forward and 3/16 right to take care of the squeezing. The 1/2 forward pitch you have is a quite a bit (IMO). I would recommend having a good pro shop check your span and finger pitches if you change from forward back toward zero. A lot of bowlers get in trouble when they start changing thumb pitches. With your present set up you might be limited with the number of hand releases you can have.
