Unexpected Rolling over Finger with RICO Drilling
« on: August 22, 2010, 08:01:21 PM »
The RICO drill is one of my favorite drill layouts next to pin over bridge. Have never ever had any problems on both high flaring and low flaring balls in the past. I just drilled up another Revolver (1st one is pin over bridge)using the RICO layout, and the last flare ring clips the middle finger right before impact with the pins. The ball is entering angling into the pocket, and than you can literally hear the "thump", while at the same time the ball enters straight in the pocket, losing all angle, leaving flat tens and 8-10's. I've tried different hand positions, speeds, coverstock changes. The only thing that works, is if I cut my rev rate way down along with the speed so the ball doesn't flare so quickly. That is way off my normal game though. I'm usually around 18-20mph, with around 400 rev rate. Is there any adjustment i can do to the static weights to move my bow tie further up, or lesson the amount of flare. I've already tried heavier polish to no success. Right now, the bow tie is about 1/2in left, and a 1/4 in up next to my middle finger (right handed). My pap is 5 1/4 x 1/4
