I use 1/2 reverse in both my fingers, and have used as much as an inch reverse in the past. I glue the bottom of the grip, push it in, then put a little dab of glue on the front, just like for normal pitches. THEN, I cut off anything sticking out of the ball with a sharp Xacto knife. It leaves the edges of the grip kinda sharp, but I like it like that. You could then take a towel with acetone on it and smooth out the edges of the grips. I did that for customers that did not like the sharp edges. With a little practice you can get pretty good at it. I also used a Dremel tool to knock down anything sticking out of the ball. A variable speed tool on the low speed works good, then the acetone part. Hope this helps ya....
