I have been using these and noticed that my middle or left finger is almost impossible to get the grip down flush due to 5/8 reverse and 5/8 lateral pitches.
Any suggestions on a better way to glue these in?

First use a very small drop of glue to secure the low spot on the grip level with the hole. That will leave the rest of the grip above the hole. Then push the grip down into the hole and use another small drop of glue to secure the spot straight across from the first spot. You may have to use a round file to hole the grip down while you glue it - at this point you really need three hands! After those two spots are secured it should be easy to push the rest of the grip down and glue it. Someone makes a special tool, called a "Flusher" to help with the process, but you could use the butt end of a screwdriver to do the same thing. If you absolutely have to, sand the holes larger or drill them with a larger bit. -- JohnP

With the reverse being used by a lot of bowlers these days, you must cut the inserts. Put one drop of glue at the front(low side). Put one drop of glue at the back, deep in the hole(not at the top). Now take a single edge razor blade and start at the high side with a sawing motion and work your way to the front. Smooth the cut edges with screen or sandpaper and the a paper towel with acetone, and you won't be able to tell they were cut.

My bad, I didn't notice the topic was vacu grips, my explanation was for standard grip installation. -- JohnP

BigMike,
I use 1/2 reverse in both my fingers, and have used as much as an inch reverse in the past. I glue the bottom of the grip, push it in, then put a little dab of glue on the front, just like for normal pitches. THEN, I cut off anything sticking out of the ball with a sharp Xacto knife. It leaves the edges of the grip kinda sharp, but I like it like that. You could then take a towel with acetone on it and smooth out the edges of the grips. I did that for customers that did not like the sharp edges. With a little practice you can get pretty good at it. I also used a Dremel tool to knock down anything sticking out of the ball. A variable speed tool on the low speed works good, then the acetone part. Hope this helps ya....
