Very gratifying
« on: April 08, 2004, 08:20:30 PM »
Over the past few years I got into drilling just my own stuff.

Not to really get in the business but just because I found it interesting.

Also because I'm an equipment magnifier , my medium revs couple with soft speed I see a lot on the lanes!  Maybe I have an eye for sports movement I always saw alot while on the golf course.

Maybe you've seen some of my articles on the subject.
Anyway recently bowlers much better than myself have been coming to me for ideas.

I've been very gratified with the results and thought I'd brag a little.
There are many professional pro shops that do this all day and can outdo these brags by a lot.

Anyway I had mentioned a while back that I designed three balls for one of our local high average bowlers for three patterns.  E, B, and A.
His first regional on pattern E nearly ended his regional carreer he was so despondent.  He ended up taking the A ball I designed for him and was going along in the 5 th thru 7th spot in qualifying of his second regional.  He is estatic.  Also he continues to use this ball on a lot of our flying local conditions and is having his highest season average ever.  (It is not suppossed to work that good but he has the ability to force the ball to the breakpoint).

Now the second is a very good friend of mine is a multi regional champ.
Had been struggling on a league condition where the heads went and the carrydown came, his scoring and carry just disappeared.  Averages of near 240 games 1 and 2 and barely over 200 game 3.

We ended up designing two angles of attack, one particle surface to go inside and swing for this high speed up the backer(usually inside was the end of his carry), and outside where maybe he could force thru the heads and flip stronly up thu the carrydown.

Well first two weeks, the results are exciting.  First week with the outside approach in game 3 760!
Second week, (note he hadn't had a 300 in two years). 258, 247, 300. =805  All using the inside angle ball.  The money is starting to flow his way and he is just estatic.  Note he is one of the highest quality best ball drillers in our area but just happened to believe that I see things.

Anyway he's bragging to everyone that I had something to do with it!  I appreciate it and believe that he throws it quite good too!  In fact always has!
Just hasn't coupled his type of rotation with drillings

This guy averages in league between 228 and 242 every year.  He should have 5 to 8 a year!

Many of his 258's are frankly equipment problems.
Three years ago he had 5 in two months when he was using 16!  Then he switched to 15, (the end of them till now).

Oh above the guy who had a tough time with pattern E, before I gave him my pattern E setup.  We already know it's looks good as it won't create the angle on league patterns to carry!  Good, pattern E here we come!
