NEED SOME HELP

Ok just got a columbia Big shot tonight and tried it out....ball did not move what so ever. The layout used is similar to my Action Max but the Big shot does not have a weight hole.
My question is, will adding a weight hole make the ball hook more or should I just get the ball redrilled the way it should be for me? The span on the ball now is good just doesn't move at all. Here is a pic of the layout now on the
Big Shot:

Here is the Action Max:

With the Action Max it goes long and then a strong move on the backend.
So would adding a weight hole to the Big shot bring this ball alive for me or would I need to just have the ball layed out differently? I know the balls are not the same but just saying.

The extra hole in and of itself will not make the ball hook significantly more, some yes, but not feet.
How much oil are you bowling on? Ball Speed? Synthetics or wood? The Big Shot should be a decent length ball with good back ends, and not really suitable for heavy oil. Should be longer than the Action Max. Max works better on oil.
I would not plug the Big Shot. Try to get it out of your normal center onto some different conditions to make sure that it does not compliment your Action Max in some way.

Just because they make it in your size, doesn't mean you should wear it!!!

Well the lanes had 3 league games on them with a dry outside edge. All my other stuff was covering boards like it was nothing but the Big Shot did not move at all. I was picking up ten pins with it just about. The lanes have a 40' Christmas tree pattern on synthetics about medium oil. The big shot went very long about 60ft. lol But I don't like having balls plugged and redrilled so thats why I was wondering about the weight hole. I just figured with the layouts being the same between my max and big shot that it would have a similar reaction.

Is this a used ball? If so, you probably have no idea how much it's been used or how it's been taken care of. I would sand it to around 400 grit, do a hot water bath, then try it. Then adjust the surface as necessary. -- JohnP

Yeah it is. Its like brand new and was cleaned before I took it. I didn't do the hot water bath, just used a ball cleaner. When doing the hot water bath do you have to plug up the holes or just let the water get in the balls finger holes?

Some people tape over the holes, some let the water go in the holes, I place the holes up and fill the container to a point just below the holes. -- JohnP
