Vise IT question
« on: November 14, 2010, 11:03:53 PM »
Hi guys...I have a question about the IT?  I currently have Turbo Switch Grip in my equipment and thinking about getting the IT Starter kit and converting.  My first question is does the kit come with a outer top sleeve that you can install to replace the outer sleeve of the Switch Grip or do you have to plug the thumb and start over. Second question, if you do have to plug the thumb...how well do the Ball-IT work with drilling into plug material?  I'm just worried it might pull out.  And if it can work with plug...is Techline or Wizard Plug better to use?

Thanks for the help guys.

There is a top sleeve to convert from turbo to vise...not sure if it comes with or you have to ask for it. Doesnt matter what material is used to plug because the ball IT is glued to the bottom of the hole and expanded. It is more important that the hole be cut very square

Memory says that the conversion sleeves came in the kit when i got mine. But even  if they don't they are pretty cheap to buy separate. As for the base in a plugged ball i have them in about 10 balls i plugged to change span and pitch on and have had no problems

So with the Switch Grip convertion sleeve that comes with the new IT starter kit...what size slug will you use?  1 3/8" or 1 1/4"?  I can use both...doesnt matter to me...just wanting to get an idea.

Thanx guys.

The conversion sleeve converts it for a 1 3/8 slug
